Kleeneze - A History

Harry Crook Established in 1923. He started producing high quality, hand made twisted-in wire brushes from a modest shop in Bristol. By 1928, due to huge demand for Harry's finely crafted brushes, he opened over 200 shops worldwide. Kleeneze was world famous for the quality of our brushes, so it made good sense to offer our customers a range of high quality polishes too.

Between 1939-1945 kleeneze proudly supplied brushes and polishes to the British Army during the second World War. By 1960 we expanded our range to Health and Beauty products, featuring Talcum Powder, Oatmeal Bath Cubes and Toothpaste.

The biggest change also occured in 1960 as from then all Kleeneze Agents were self-employed, running and owning their own home shopping businesses

During the 1980's, the home shopping and Direct selling industry grew rapidly. We helped to found The Direct Selling Association, promoting ethical business practice in our industry and upholding the highest standards through a strict code of practice.

With a massive investment infrastructure and logistics we expanded into Holland, Germany and Ireland between 2004-2006. Also in 2006 we became part of Findel PLC, one of the largest direct mail order businesses in the UK. We moved our Headquarters to a state of the art office and warehouse facility in Accrington.

In our new Headquarters, we made huge improvements in our delivery service and delivery network, making us one of the most efficient home shopping businesses in Europe.

Direct Selling is a 20 Billion Euro industry, and growing steadily (9.6%-2006). We believe that this model of shopping from home is the future of retail, offering modern consumers a comprehensive range of products delivered straight to their door.

It is an exciting and dynamis industry that is the UK's most significant provider of part time, independant earning opportunities.
